NutriQuest is built on a simple principle: your health data belongs to you. We collect only what we need to make the app work, we never sell your data, and we never share it with advertisers.
1. Who we are

2. What data we collect
We collect the following information when you use NutriQuest:
- Account information — your name and email address when you sign in with Google
- Profile information — age, weight, height, and nutrition goals that you choose to provide during onboarding
- Food and nutrition data — meals you log, foods you scan, and nutrition information associated with those foods
- App activity — your streaks, XP, quest completions, league position, and hero progress
- Device information — device type and operating system for push notification delivery
- Payment information — processed securely by Stripe. We never see or store your full card details
3. How we use your data
We use your data solely to provide and improve NutriQuest:
- To personalise your nutrition goals, quests, and AI coach responses
- To track your streaks, XP, and progress within the app
- To send you streak reminders and quest notifications (only if you allow this)
- To process payments for subscriptions and gem purchases
- To respond to support requests you send us
- To improve the app based on aggregated, anonymised usage patterns
4. AI features and your data
NutriQuest uses Google Gemini to power food recognition and the AI meal coach. When you use these features, your meal photos or questions are sent to Google's API for processing. Google's use of this data is governed by their API terms of service. We do not store your meal photos after they have been processed.
5. Who we share your data with
We do not sell your data. We share data only with the following third-party services that are necessary to operate the app:
- Google (authentication) — for sign-in via Google account
- Google Gemini (AI features) — for food recognition and coaching
- Stripe (payments) — for processing subscriptions and purchases
- Resend (email) — for sending transactional emails
- MongoDB Atlas (database) — for storing your account and nutrition data securely
- Expo (push notifications) — for delivering streak and quest notifications
All third-party services are bound by their own privacy policies and data processing agreements.
6. Data storage and security
Your data is stored on MongoDB Atlas servers located in the EU (eu-west-1). We use industry-standard encryption for data in transit (HTTPS/TLS) and at rest. Payment transactions are handled entirely by Stripe and are never stored on our servers.
7. Your rights
You have the following rights regarding your personal data:
- Access — you can request a copy of all data we hold about you
- Correction — you can update your profile information within the app at any time
- Deletion — you can request deletion of your account and all associated data by emailing hello@nutriquest.io
- Portability — you can request an export of your nutrition and activity data
- Objection — you can opt out of non-essential communications at any time in the app settings
We will respond to all data requests within 30 days.
8. Children's privacy
NutriQuest is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at hello@nutriquest.io and we will delete it promptly.
9. Push notifications
We may send you push notifications for streak reminders, quest updates, and league activity. You can disable these at any time in the app settings or in your device's notification settings.
10. Cookies and tracking
The NutriQuest mobile app does not use cookies. Our website may use minimal analytics to understand traffic patterns. We do not use advertising trackers or cross-site tracking of any kind.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by posting a notice in the app or sending an email to your registered address. The "last updated" date at the top of this page will always reflect the most recent version.
